Exercising using a harness and lead
GPWUK does not recommend the use of harnesses for guinea pigs. Guinea pigs have fragile spines, and the use of a harness can cause significant harm. Guinea pigs are prey animals, and exposing them to public areas would cause distress as well as the risk of harm from a predator (e.g. dog, cat, bird of prey).
Guinea pigs should have adequate housing space to be able to have a permanent provision to exercise.
