Health care
GPWUK believes that regular veterinary health checks with an experienced veterinarian are important. Guinea pigs are prey animals and will hide subtle signs of disease, which can easily be missed.
There is currently limited research on the risks and benefits associated with neutering guinea pigs. Surgical neutering may be advised in the prevention of certain diseases, including behavioural disease or physical aggression. The decision should always be taken with your vet and be based on a risk-benefit analysis in each case.
